Do You Like The Facebook Button?

Apr 30

Facebook has introduced a new way you can tell your friends about things that you like.  Naturally, it’s called a ‘like’ button and you will be able to use it to share content you find valuable.  This article analyses a Wall Street Journal report that questions whether this move will be a winner or a loser.  The idea behind the move is that websites that drive traffic back to Facebook will receive return traffic.  The problem is that the button will transmit data about user activity and this will in turn be used by Facebook to assist advertisers to target new prospects. Read it and make up your own mind as to whether Facebook is willing to sell privacy for profit.
